Ilford Uniting Church

This delightful gem of a church, designed by prominent Sydney-based architect Thomas Rowe and completed in 1867, was placed on the market in late 2010. To the great joy of the local community, the church was purchased by Dennis Allard and Sheila Carroll of the adjoining Ilford House; consequently, the church remains open to use by the community. The auction of the contents afterwards saw the pews, the baptismal font and several other items remain in  the church. What a joyous outcome!

I compiled this study prior to the sale in order to present a copy to the ultimate purchaser who would hopefully be sympathetic to its heritage significance. As fate would have it, I need not have worried.
