Mount Wilson

The beautiful mountain village of Mount Wilson and its magnificent gardens have strong links to the Mudgee district where I live. For many years I have been a member of the Mount Wilson and Mount Irvine Historical Society Inc. In 2006 I led a tour to Mount Wilson of members of the Mudgee Historical Society Inc, of which I am President, and in 2007 I hosted a return visit to Mudgee by members of the Mount Wilson and Mount Irvine Historical Society inc. Attached please find my notes for the 2006 tour to Mount Wilson, which summarises the links and also shows the itinerary of the visit. I have also uploaded numerous photographs taken of that visit, with some of the interior of Saint George's Anglican Church - an early fibro building - and many of the magnificent and extensive garden at Bebeah. Mount Wilson is certainly worthy of a visit in both autumn and spring!

In 1999 I addressed the AGM of the Mount Wilson Historical Society Inc (prior to its name change), describing the Mudgee - Mount Wilson links in greater details. This address was subsequently printed in the Society newsletter.
